What precautions do you take to ensure patients safety?
We maintain a central sterilization area in the office, which includes an autoclave for the safe and thorough cleaning of all dental instruments. Our practice is also equipped with a water filtration system. We adhere to all Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidelines for infection control and sterilization. To ensure that we maintain these standards, we submit to OSHA inspection annually, and our staff takes an OSHA class each year. |
I want my front teeth to look better, but I don't want to wear braces. Are there alternatives?
We can improve the appearance of a patient’s smile without recommending traditional braces. Custom-made porcelain shells called veneers can instantly improve the color and shape of front teeth. Bonding, another option, is application of a tooth-colored composite material to repair chipped, broken, or misaligned teeth, or even to fill small gaps. Be sure to check out our services page to learn more about these procedures. |
Crowns, veneers, on-lays, inlays and partials... Where can I learn more about these procedures?
You can find descriptions of many of our services right on this Website. We also offer a list of recommended resources where you can find reliable, evidence-based information on many dental conditions and procedures. Of course, you can always turn to any member of our staff with questions about your care. We're more than happy to discuss any aspect of dentistry with you. |
What is smile design?
Smile makeovers are not “one-size-fits-all.” The appearance of your smile should be as unique as your personality. Our first step in a smile makeover is analyzing your smile, taking into account the shape of your facial features, your skin tone, and how much of your teeth and gums show when you smile. Then, we can make recommendations on tooth shape, color, and alignment to design a new smile that's just right for you. |
I really do not like visiting the dentist; is there anything you can do to help me relax?
Many people feel anxious about dental visits. You can rest assured that we make every effort to ensure that your time in our office is as comfortable and relaxed as possible. Depending on your situation, we can offer local anesthetic, nitrous oxide, and oral sedation to ease your dental experience. Ask us about which options might be right for you. |
My spouse snores and keeps me up at night. I've heard a dentist might be able to prescribe an appliance that prevents snoring. Can you help?
A common complaint among many couples, snoring often disrupts a good night's sleep—and not just for the snorer! Sleep apnea may also be an issue. If you or your spouse snores, we can create a custom oral appliance that may help. Give us a call to learn more. |
How do I know when it's time to come in for a check up?
For convenience, we recommend that you schedule your next appointment before leaving our office. However, since it's not always possible for everyone to plan so far in advance, we also employ reminder phone calls and postcards. Most patients in good health should schedule regular cleanings and check ups every six months. |
What should I do if I need to cancel my appointment?
We understand that circumstances can cause you to miss a scheduled appointment. For the convenience of our staff and other patients waiting to see one of our doctors, we ask that you give 48 hours notice, when possible, if you need to cancel or reschedule. Simply call our office, and we’ll be happy to help you. |
How can I safely whiten my teeth?
We offer two choices for safely whitening teeth—Zoom! Teeth Whitening, which is done in our office, or take-home trays for you to whiten your teeth at home. Which is the best option for you? We would be happy to discuss the advantages of each method to help you decide. |
