General
Everyone needs routine dental care to maintain optimal oral health. Our general services include:
- Routine Checkups and Cleanings - Dr. Boyd and her staff will remove plaque, detect decay as early as possible and ensure you are always in a state of great oral health.
- Periodontal Evaluations - Dr. Boyd will assess for gum disease so that it can be treated in the earliest stages. Not only can gum disease cause painful, permanent tooth loss when left untreated, but emerging research links it to heart disease, stroke and other severe health problems.
- Fillings - Dr. Boyd can use a filling to repair the damage done to a tooth by a cavity
- Root Canals - A root canal is the proccess in which Dr. Boyd will treat damaged or decayed pulp tissue of a tooth. If a tooth's pulp is damaged and not repaired the result can be tooth loss.
- Dental Sealants - A dental sealant is a plastic material applied to the chewing surfaces of the rear teeth. Dental sealants provide a physical barrier to the teeth preventing cavities and the invasion of cavity causing bacteria.
- Fluoride Treatment - Fluoride helps prevent tooth decay by making a tooth more resistant to the acidic attacks of bacteria. Fluoride treatments also reverse the effects of early decay.
- Patient Education - Education allows you to support your dental health in every aspect of your life.
